Mast raising without crane
Hello

Does anyone have drawings or photos of the special post to raise or lower the Platu mast with no crane available?

Thanks

there are two ways to do it mate.

1. using a mast a little taller than the boat's mast up until the lower spreaders. Be careful! Measure the hight from the base of the mast and not from the coachroof! It's stepped on the coachroof just ahead of the mast colar with shrouds and a forestay. You also need a sheet to fasten the lower part of your "crane" that goes through the jib cars to the winches.

2. A tripod. (that's what i use)

The whole idea is to lift the mast a few centimeters above the hole and lower it in. So you use a halyard with a 2:1 purchase and you tight the mast just below the lower spreaders.

I'll try and find some pics for you...
