MONACO – German “Farr Bar” with Jens Ahlgrim at the helm  “is the winner  of the Primo Cup-Trophée Credit Suisse 2010. Eight regattas, that took place in the marvellous Monaco Bay from the 12th  to the 14th of February, were  very hard and tactical because of a shifty wind that forced crews to continuous manoeuvres and fast direction changes.

The German team (with crew composed by Stephan Mölle; Mathias Gedrange, Enrico Taufer e Carsten Wernecke)) had to defend the first place on the podium against “Xacobeo 2010 Galicia” of Pepe Lis Santos and David Louzao,  the very competitive Spanish team  that finished their regattas with just one point of distance from the winner.
For “Farr Bar” is a sort of “one year later revenge” on an other Spanish boat,  “Central Lechera” helmed by the Olympian championship Natalia Via Duifresne, the winner  of the Primo Cup 2009.

During this edition there was a double passionate challenge: one between “Farr Bar” and “Xacobeo 2010 Galicia” for the first place and the other between “Nanuk” the Italian boat of Gianrocco Catalano with Luigi Ravioli at the helm, and “Alicante 2010-Icsa” of  Enrique e Manuel Moreno, helmed by Fernando Ros, for the third place. At the end “Nanuk” won, after three very adrenalin  days for the roman crew that had an incredible recovery (from the 7th place in the ranking list it arrived 3rd).

“Nanuk” and  “Alicante 2010-Icsa” finished with the same points and “Nanuk” won because today  it arrived 1st in the very last regatta.
The presence of a crew from Alicante anticipates the big event waited by all the Platu 25 teams, the next World Championship in Spain - exactly in Alicante – from 18 to 24 July (for details www.platu25worlds2010.com).

As Bernard D’Alessandri, director of dello Yacht Club di Monaco, underlined: “It seems to me that the crews were more than satisfy. They could compete 8 regattas in three days, that’s very  good for this period of the year. That’s indeed one of the main reason because so many crews come from every part of Europe to begin officially the Sailing Season”.
