PALMA DE MALLORCA – After 9 very competitive races, Manu Weiller’s “Iberdrola” is the winner of the prestigious “Hublot – Palmavela” Trophy that took part in Palma de Mallorca from the 16th of April to the 18th of April. Manu Weiller, from Mallorca, confirmed the 2009 result. Despite his “playing at home”, he showed a very good preparation and a great constancy.
The second place is for “Imobiliaria Nova” skippered by Jorge Forteza who sign up a very passionate challenge against “Zibing-Badia” of Arbona and Momparler for the second place
“Zibing – Badia” at the end had to accept the third place.
Since the first day, “Imobiliaria Nova” and “Ibeldrola” emerged soon as protagonists fighting for the podium. Very good, in the first three races, the performance of “Uep Design” skippered by Tomeu Carbonell.
By the way, from the very beginning, “Imobiliaria Nova” gave a very strong propulsion to the competition, forcing “Ilberdrola” and “Ziving – Badia” to a very enthralling run up. In this challenge among these three crews, the other boats couldn’t do a lot except tagging along.
In this 2010 Hublot Palmavela edition, thanks to the very good weather conditions and to the generous wind, it was possible to complete the program, racing 9 marvellous races.
The next appointment for the Spanish fleet, will be in Barcelona from the 5 th to the 6 th of July for the “Gran Prix Iberdrola Monotype” organized by the “Real Club Nautico” in Barcelona. It will be one of the most prestigious appointments in this very intensive year, culminating in to the Platu 25 World Championship in Alicante from the 18 th to the 24 th July ( www.platu25worlds2010.com)
