The 4th International Alp-Cup will take place in the heart of Switzerland from the 27th until 29th August. In Brunnen Föhnhafen, an enchanting site onshore the Luzern Lake in Switzerland, at least 25 boats even from France and Russia are reported besides crews from Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Italy, traditional areas for competitors.
So many sailors have become enthusiastic about the ideal wind conditions on the lake of Uri that each year the number of participants has steadily increased. (In 2007: 12 Platu25; In 2008: 20 Platu25; In 2009: 23 Platu25; In 2010: 26 Platu25 are expected)

After the first leg of the Alpen Cup on the Attersee Lake, Austria, (8-9 May) and the second leg in Traunsee, during the prestigious Traunsee week (13-16 May), now the appointment is in Switzerland where the favorites will fight quite strenuously in order to be on the podium. The last act will take place in Dervio, on the Como Lake in Italy (4-5 September).
At the moment, among the favorites there are the “Swiss Sail-Art Team” with the Sigrist brothers on board of “Aramis” leading the general ranking list. They won the 2009 Alpen Cup and, until now, they managed very well also in this edition, showing a very strong harmony on board. Moreover, sailing on their Luzern Lake will be quite easy for them. So, their adversary will have to be very determined.
The Austrian boat “White Pearl”, helmed by Michael Farthofer, that won the second leg of the Alpen Cup on the Traunsee Lake, is second in the general ranking list, followed by “La Burra”, another Austrian boat helmed by Thomas Laherstorfer, who won the first leg of the “Platu 25 Alpen Cup on the Attersee Lake.
The appointment in Brunnen Föhnhafen is expected to be very exciting and extremely competitive among “Aramis”, “White Pearl” and “ La Burra”. They will fight for the podium, pressed by “Superbüsi” of Matthias Bermejo and “B52” of Felix Dom.
As the organizer of this third act of the Alpen Cup, Markus Sigrist, said: “There will be a guest boat for all visitors and on Saturday night a big dinner and party for sailors, guests, friends and sponsors“.
