Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

On behalf of the organizing authority and the organizing committee I may herby announce, that it is a great pleasure and honour, to arrange the 2011 Platu 25 world championship on lake Traunsee. The organizing authority will be the Union Yachtclub Traunsee (UYCT) in Gmunden. The lake Traunsee and its most traditional Union Yacht Club Traunsee, are famous for their great hospitality and the typical local thermal breeze. Due to that, the lake Traunsee is one of the most popular sailing venues in Austria.

Since 1888 the site of lake Traunsee together with the Club of the UYCT has been a very   appreciated venue for big sailing events such as World- and European championships in various sailboat classes or the RC 44 World championship Tour with their high class owners and sailors. Gentlemen like Russel Couts, Paul Cayard, Sebastain Col, James Spithill have been impressed by the picturesque site and the stable winds as well. The Union Yacht Club Traunsee with its members has presented itself always professionally and as a first class organizer of big and important sailing events.

National Championships in different classes, European championships in the O-Dinghy class and the Trias class, the organization of the „Allianz Traunsee Week“ with its „Sailing in the City“, in cooperation with three further sailing clubs on lake Traunsee, recommend the UYCT as an experienced organizing authority.

 The Club area will be modernized in 2010 and will provide „wetpits“ and moorings for more than 100 competitors. Assisted by the local government and the mayor of the city of Gmunden, all needs for the professional organization of such an event will be ensured and will fulfil all requirements of the competitors.

 The proposed schedule of June 2011 for the Platu 25 WC 2011 will take place close to the annual „Allianz Traunsee Week 2011“. Due to this fact and enforced by the partnership of the sailing clubs in the cities of Altmünster, Traunkirchen and Ebensee, the base for running the WC 2011 professionally will be given. The well proved cooperation of the organizing authority (UYCT) and the professional management of the „Allianz Traunsee Week“ by PROFS Consulting as service provider for sales, sponsoring and marketing, the media part of this World championship will be covered very well and will guarantee a maximum output to all media, both national and international.
